The Ruhunu Lanka Foundation was established in 2007 because of the group of children from the rural village in Nihiluwa.Thirst for knowledge and for modern technology led Mr Amal Gunawardana their IT Teacher  in the public school to do this..

After school classes  provide  children further education in  computers. Then it  became very popular place for students of the village.We have expanded our service to the entire community with our computer lab, which has 24h Internet access but with the limitations. The lab we are using is belongs to Nihiluwa public school. So that we are not completely free to use it. .Fortunately we were able to published our web site in mid 2007 as www.ruhunulanka.org  , opening a door to the world.We hope this year we would be able to establish a lab for Ruhunu Lanka with the help of  Donors.

We initiate  a project, which is bringing PCs to the each student for the students of Nihiluwa.Ruhunu Lanka proud to say that we start English improvement programme.For this purpose we want volunteers attention for our students, They are eager to warmly welcome them.
 We are giving the children and community fresh hope for their futures

Ruhunu Lanka Foundation has to face challenge for funds to keep this project going.Currently our process is maintained by the students savings and the help of kind donors.We expand our service to the whole vllagers and the schools in the area.Most of our service for the schools are volunteer.So that our resources are getting to their limits.

To strength the students and the youth in the Village we initialize the program to provide used PC for them. This project called Digital Butterflies.Every students must saved 5000 LKR and Donors can provide rest of the money ( at least 5000 LKR)to buy a used PC.So that we are warmly welcome the Donors those who are willing to help these rural kids . pleas feel free to send an email
