Young ,energetic and enthusiatic group of students representing Computer Society of the University of Colombo School of Computing  came to our village on 16 th September for a Three day workshop on ICT syllbus.It is learnt that UCSC is a major ICT hub in Sri Lanka that is always ready to share their knowledge with others specially in rural areas .ICT as a subject, still faraway from rural tuch in our Country. There for our main object is to break these barriers.Chanak who is the leader of this group contacted me and informed that they are very interested in about our attempt to improve ICT in our village, Nihiluwa, and expressed their willingness to help our students anytime possible.

They reached nihiluwa 16 th September evening. Workshop was started on 17 th at 8.30 am with an inauguration ceremony.The programme went on for three days and ended on 19 at 4 pm.

This workshop was completed under the School based development programme.Students who follows ICT as a subject participated in this workshop.Our main objects are  to improve ICT knowledge and the acquire latest technology regarding the Computer field.

Attempt made by these students to share knowledge with rural students is highly appreciated by the Principal, Staff and the students of Nihiluwa Maha Vidyalaya.and the Ruhunu Lanka IT Foundation.
